Acupuncture was developed thousands of years ago in China and is one of the most widely practiced areas of complementary medicine. It’s a holistic treatment based on the principle that qi (or energy) can be activated by the placement and manipulation of fine needles into acupuncture points, correcting imbalances and helping the body to heal itself.

Acupuncture can support physical and emotional health, and improve overall function and well-being. Treatments are customised to the individual and presentation, and may include the use of electro-acupuncture, moxibustion, infra-red therapy, cupping and gua sha.

In Australia, acupuncture is regulated by AHPRA.  Practitioners registered with AHPRA are required to have completed a minimum 4 year degree training with over 600hrs of clinical supervision. This is different to needle training that some health professionals do in a couple of days. At Darling Health, we believe in providing you with the highest standard of acupuncture and continually exceed the minimum requirements for ongoing education.

Functional nutrition is the practice of using food and nutrition as a form of medicine to help patients with the management of their symptoms and health concerns. At Darling Health we recommend certain foods and diet plans to improve the functionality of the body’s physiological processes, address digestive and immune issues and return the patient to optimal health. The modern day diet can provide impediments to our wellbeing and functional nutrition incorporates nutrigenomics, functional food advice and personalised nutrition plans.

Our aim at Darling Health is to investigate the role of diet and possible deficiencies in individual nutrients and their impact on our patients health.  Evidence based treatment plans and dietary advice are used to manage our patients health concerns and restore organ function and vitality.

At Darling Health, our philosophy is that medicine should be integrative. Integrative medicine combines conventional medical diagnosis or investigations with evidence-based complementary medicines and advice.  Integrative medicine explores all potential drivers responsible for the development of a condition or disease and utilises multi-disciplinary approaches to focus on the whole person and personalised treatments to achieve optimal health and healing.

One of our specialities in this area is supporting cancer patients undergoing treatment. We also offer treatments and advice alongside conventional oncology care to support the patient’s health and overall well-being during this challenging time. Our clinicians are skilled with advice and appropriate nutritional and complementary medicine suggestions that can augment conventional treatments for patients suffering cancer, autoimmune disease or other chronic health conditions.

We also specialise in pre-conception care, working closely with IVF clinics and supporting couples undergoing fertility treatments with complementary therapies such as acupuncture and naturopathy.

Further to this, we offer DNA testing as part of our Nutrigenomics. For more information on Nutrigenomics click here or find out more about our DNA testing.

Plagued by work stress, love life problems, lingering health issues – or just feeling out of sorts? Kinesiology is a gentle, non-invasive healing system based on the belief that our thoughts and feelings impact how we feel physically and spiritually. How we respond to stresses in our lives can create imbalances in the body, which can manifest as everything from emotional problems to digestive disorders, chronic pain and other chronic health issues.

To correct these imbalances, a kinesiologist will use muscle monitoring – a way of ‘talking’ to the body to discover the underlying cause of stress on a mental, emotional, physical or energetic level. A variety of techniques will then help to restore the body back to its natural state.

The primary focus of Naturopathic Medicine is to identify and correct the underlying causes of disease. At Darling Health, we take a comprehensive approach that combines diet, herbal and nutritional treatments alongside counselling and stress management techniques. We practice functional naturopathic medicine based on the latest scientific research and utilise evidence based functional medicine testing to explore your particular health concerns. We work very closely with a range of medical specialists to ensure we provide you with thorough, holistic, patient-centred care.

The range of functional testing can involve hair, blood, urine and stool analysis, to help our practitioners diagnose your particular areas of concern. We provide individualised treatment protocols for you, which may involve diet or lifestyle changes, herbal medicine, supplements and/or detoxification. We specialise in male and female fertility, reproductive health, children’s health, allergies, digestive health, mood disorders and autoimmune disease.
