practitioner > Dr Melinda Prince
Dr Melinda Prince is a General Practitioner, and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP). Her areas of clinical interest include psychological medicine and counselling, chronic disease management, illness and lifestyle disease prevention, and health and wellness promotion.
She is on the RACGP National Standing Committees for Quality Care and Prevocational Education. Her recent Masters in Medical Humanities studies at the University of Sydney focused on the philosophical paradigmatic differences between mainstream medicine and complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs), and implications for CAM research and trial designs.
She was awarded an RDP fellowship in 2008 as an associate lecturer
at the University of Sydney, to undertake research into General
Practice trainee wellbeing issues. She also received the 2008 PWH
Grieve memorial award from the RACGP for General Practice research
education. She is a NSW Representative of the Australasian
Integrative Medicine Association (AIMA) and is a member of the
RACGP-AIMA Joint Working Party. She is currently working part time
in clinical practice at the Darling St Health Centre in Balmain,
NSW.
